Search Fields
Parcels and certain other itemized properties are identified by a unique eleven-digit number. If a properly formed property number is present in its respective search box, it will override any other search criteria.
Situs Address Search Fields
You may also use the situs address fields to search the database when the
property number is unknown. Use as many characters as possible
in both the house number and street name fields to narrow your search.
Both fields are treated as "wild card" fields. For example, search
arguments of "Fir" (not including the quotation marks) will return
all occurrences of Fir, Fir Tree, Firland, etc. If you are certain of the
spelling, you may force the search engine to look for an exact match by
appending an exclamation point to the street name. For example, putting "Fir!"
in the street name field will return only those addresses on Fir St, Fir Ct, etc.
The search engine does not distinguish
between upper and lower case.
Address search restrictions:
Use only the street name for your search. Do not include the
street type or direction.
If you use fewer than three characters in the street name, and do not include
a house number, your search will be rejected.
Similarly, searches using just a house number
are not allowed, and will be rejected.
Display Order
Using a situs address search may return more than one "hit." You can control
the order in which the results are displayed by selecting Taxpayer Name, the
default choice, Situs Address, or Property Number from the select list.
